Wawasee High School

The Lady Warriors were back in action last night at the Dekalb Invite! This meet was a little different, featuring a 4K distance instead of the usual 5K, but it provided the perfect early-season opportunity to shake off the rust and get back into race mode. Going into the race, we focused on executing a few key strategies, and it was exciting to see the girls follow through. Senior leader Mia Hodgson continues to race with great focus and discipline, staying locked in on the process. Our front pack of Leah Hurst, Bailyn Likens, and Finley Brady had a very strong showing as our 2–4 runners, which will be crucial for us as the season progresses. Freshman Sophie Hunter stepped up as our 5th runner, continuing to build confidence each week. Another standout was Sophia Smith, whose determination stood out as she continually surged throughout the race to close gaps and catch packs ahead of her. It was a strong effort all around and an encouraging sign of what’s to come!
